A joint venture or joint venture (JV) is a limited liability company, subject to the approval of the Chinese Government, in which part of the share capital belongs to one or several Chinese partners and another party to one or more foreign partners. This type of company is carried out when the constitution of a company with 100% foreign capital is prohibited or, simply, when it is considered appropriate to associate with a local entrepreneur. In these cases it is important to be careful when choosing the business partner.
The Equity Joint Ventures (EJVs) must be constituted as limited liability companies, with their own legal personality, independent of their partners, limiting the responsibility of them to their contributions to the Capital of the EJV itself.
